Intro to - The Ultimate Permanent Jewelry Training Course - Now Available!
I would like to introduce the Ultimate Permanent Jewellery Training Course. I use the word Ultimate because no other word can describe it better. Within its 49 videos and 87 pages in the PDF's, it covers all the aspects and training for starting, operating and growing a successful permanent jewelry business.
Stones And Findings is a wholesaler of premium chains, components and welders in the permanent jewelry industry. I have started and operated a number of successful small businesses, and in the past 3 years, I have helped a number of entrepreneurs start and grow their permanent jewelry business to massive success. I have a degree in finance and an MBA; I am an Instructor at the Permanent Jewelry Expo and I operate a UA-cam channel dedicated to permanent jewelry business and jewelry making. Our experience and successes qualify us to be the producers of the ideal training course.
I decided to dedicate several months of my and my team's time to create this extensive course after many people have reached out to us with questions and asked us to create this because they felt, after taking other paid courses and done online research, there were gaps - things they struggled with or wished were taught but weren't.
I gathered all the questions and feedback from our customers, followers, permanent jewelry community forums and students from the PJX to develop this Ultimate Permanent Jewelry Training Course.
The videos cover technical aspects of permanent jewelry welding - from setting up all the equipment, to their maintenance, from beginner to advanced welding techniques and how best to measure and weld bracelets, rings, anklets and necklaces and more.
The 49 videos and 87 pages of resources cover extensively product knowledge and customer support: from how to educate your customers about PJ, managing their expectations, product knowledge and care, to the warranties and policies. Not only does the course have full videos, it has the full wording that you can use. You can simply copy, paste and share - it's all done for you.
Drawing from my finance background and experience,we guide you, in depth, through the finances of the permanent jewelry business. From specific price lists to pricing and branding strategies, inventory guidance and profit calculators. We go through how to register a business, license, the insurance policies you'll want, from waivers, to a list of things you will need to purchase or register for.
And above and beyond any pj training course on the market, I have included sections on gladiatorial business strategies - so competitive strategies and executables if you are the only PJ business in town and also if you are entering a market with already many players. In other words, how do you take market share, assert dominance, and beat the others out.
I have also filmed in-depth sections on developing the Mental Strength of a Tycoon. Lessons on how to overcome fear of failure, self-doubt, setbacks and all the mental challenges entrepreneurs face from launching a business through the often lonely road of success and empire building.
The Ultimate Training Course covers everything you will need to be fully trained and knowledgeable to operate and grow an incredibly successful permanent business. Although I have filmed and shared over 130 free UA-cam videos on permanent jewelry welding and business, this is far above and beyond what I already make available. That is why it has taken so many months of hard work to create this course.
I look forward to being a part of your permanent jewelry journey - let's grow our businesses together! See you soon.
Dana

The easiest way to do that would be to mark on the table the length of the section and measure ...

    Do you think 2 part epoxy will work well in affixing silk fabric to cured resin. And also aux leather to cured resin.

      I've never tried it with fabric, but it works on leather. Maybe I should plan on another video of trying all sorts of combinations of materials to bond using 2 part epoxy. Thanks for this video idea.

      Thank you for this note. It's a mine field. I think reviews are important and also, if you have a trusted supplier, ask them to bring some things in for you. Unless you're buying MASSIVE amounts, paying an extra couple of dollars is far better than spending lots of time making (or worse, selling) pieces only to realize part of it is fake.

    This was super helpful! I'm surprised there are so few likes when it's a video that actually does what's advertised. Also, can someone PLEASE tell me which 2 part epoxy was used in this test? I expected the different glue names to be listed in the description but they weren't and it's really hard to see what 2 part epoxy that is from the video.

It is a wonderful idea to list out the brands and I completely forgot to do this - thank you for reminding me. I'm going to update my captions in a moment. Meanwhile, the 2 part expoxy is Adhaer. I got it at a local hardware store and now the dollar store carries the exact thing - only the packaging has $3.50 printed on it. I've used the dollar store epoxy and it works perfectly. I hope this helps.

    • @stonesandfindings
      @stonesandfindings 3 дні тому

      Thanks for watching and for this comment of encouragement! I'm balling them at 5 watts (joules) for this thickness. Very high power will blow the molten metal off. You may also wish to try touching the metal to the side of the electrode, not the tip, if you find that it is too powerful and you're not forming much of a ball.

    I'm seeking guidance with my new Amazon Jinhu welder for jewelry making. Specifically, I'm having difficulty consistently welding small 2.5mm 14k gold-filled jump rings. Here are the challenges I'm facing: - Settings 1 and 3 often fail to produce a spark. - Higher settings tend to weld the rings but often result in them blowing out. - Other settings occasionally produce a single spark or do nothing at all. - I am not using argon gas (yet) Could you please provide advice on effectively using the welder to permanently join these small jump rings? Any tips or adjustments to settings would be greatly appreciated!

    • @stonesandfindings
      @stonesandfindings 6 днів тому

      Hello! My apologies, I have never used the Jinhu welder and I don't know how many watts those 1-3 settings produce. I would suggest that you start off with larger diameter (but same thickness/gauge) jump rings and find the best setting. Then reduce to smaller diameter jump rings. WIth tiny ones, you have to have more precision in holding them steady and they're hard to see. As long as they're the same thickness, the same setting will work. As far as setting is concerned, find the setting that doesn't blow out, but might overmelt. If you can consistently weld securely, then reduce the power to the next lower. Practice and make sure you are able to consistently weld, before moving yet lower power. Rinse and repeat. Finally, you will find the ideal setting where anything lower you will not get a secure weld, and anything higher, you'll flat top (over melt). I hope this helps. Dana

    We have had precious stones break

    • @stonesandfindings
      @stonesandfindings 9 днів тому

      I don't think you bought any from me, if you did and anything of our break, we will replace them. Sometime people wire wrap them too tightly and the pressure causes fractures in the stone and then they're compromised. It does take a light touch to make sure the wraps have no slack, but no pressure on the stone. Stones do break when they're dropped, but that happens a lot with pendants.

    2.5 months isn't long enough for testing when talking about pj. Also, why are some plated chains and others are not plated...is it strictly where it is made?

    • @stonesandfindings
      @stonesandfindings 9 днів тому

      We've only had ours for 2 months and when we received them, we put them on right away to test. It took us a long time to research and find the best factory we are most comfortable with. On my own hand, I now have about 20 pj chains, the oldest being over 2 years. It's important that we test how the metal behaves with pool water, ocean water, bath salts, lotions and you name it. Everyone at our office also them because pH levels differ with people. In the video, I asked our manager Lori to test white (we affectionately call her the acidic b*tch cuz she turns sterling black almost overnight and gold filled dark during the summers and solid gold as well). People keep asking about it so we decided to make this video. Some people online are selling uv resin as enamel, but resin does not do well under heat and they're prone to color changes. Resin is not the same as enamel! re: plating finish Almost all have to have plating finish to seal weld marks. You don't want chains that are not weld or soldered shut. As for the differences in plating - depends on region and choice. Most popular is Hamilton for gf in North America - you would see this in 80% of the online sales of finished gold filled jewelry. It's a bit more orangey. Most of our chains we prefer "SPCL" plating - literally, the American chain factories we use created this code for me because I want it as close to the solid 14K gold I see in fine jewelry stores. Italians and Asians tend to like higher karat looking gold - more yellowy. I hope this helps. Dana

    • @stonesandfindings
      @stonesandfindings 12 днів тому

      This should be the case. You don't need argon gas to weld. Do you have a jump ring to test with? Have both ends touching. Then try it on higher than the power needed, which can compensate for shaky hands. Here is the power setting chart to go with: stonesandfindings.com/free-resources-page-pj-jewelry-making-information/optimal-power-setting-for-micro-welding/ If you bought the welder through us, I want you to email me and we can set up video or some way to communicate and I see what you're doing. Otherwise, try the above suggestion. If it doesn't work, simply contact your dealer. They should figure out what you're doing wrong. I am certain there is a very simple fix. Good luck Dana

Alternatively, you can find decal film at Michael's (or craft supply store). You can remove it and it won't damage your machine.

    • @stonesandfindings
      @stonesandfindings 16 днів тому

      You want to find reputable wholesalers like us, Stones and Findings. We lab test all of our supplies and are highly trusted. We guarantee our metallurgy. We are the largest wholesaler of gold filled chains in Canada and 3rd largest in North America. To see wholesale prices, you will need to register an account. stonesandfindings.com/my-account/ It will not ask you for your retail license because we ship all over the world and different countries have different requirements for tax. If you are in the USA, we cover all duties, taxes and clearance. Our turnaround time is extremely fast and perhaps best in the industry. We are better than most US local suppliers both in terms of price and service. I hope this helps. We look forward to doing business with you.

    50/50 split = $3,000 rent for a few hours? oh heck no! You could rent a space and have it all month!

    • @stonesandfindings
      @stonesandfindings 23 дні тому

      This is absolutely true that it ends up being expensive rent. If you can rent the venue, you should. However, if there is a boutique that has a huge customer list that they're willing to throw an event and bring them all in, to help you launch your business and grow customer base quickly - and at no risk or marketing cost to you, it might be a very good business deal. Think of this - a customer of mine was able to do pop-ups at Anthropologie locations. $3k is nothing to have that kind of exposure. We have to weigh all of the factors. I've been in pop-ups at boutiques where they have it catered with drinks and appetizers. They took me to fine dinner along with their staff so they got to know me better and could sell my line better when I am not there. The dinner alone was over $700. I have no idea how much the catering cost. So, it really depends. THey're promoting my brand to everyone, including their staff.

    • @stonesandfindings
      @stonesandfindings 23 дні тому

      Hmmmm, aside from the quality of sleep the night before making a difference, I don't really have a good and accurate answer. I would advise that you make an effort to consistently start the same way each day and observe what's happening. Freshly sharpened electrode at the start each day, same size of jump ring, same hand motions to close it...and then compare. I wish I was there to see it. I would have a better idea. But yeah, I have good days and bad, even when I'm just filming!

    There's not much of a difference🤔 with or without

    • @stonesandfindings
      @stonesandfindings 26 днів тому

      The difference is negligible when it is microwelding. As you get into thicker gauges, you will see the difference. For thicker industrial welding, you cannot weld without argon. That's what I'm trying to tell everyone.

    how do you protect you eyes?

    • @stonesandfindings
      @stonesandfindings 26 днів тому

      I actually close my eyes when I hear the warning click - that it is about to zapp. Not all welders have that function, but all Sunstone welders do. You can also use a smart phone or any old tablet to see from. It will protect your eyes from infrared radiation. Only thing is that that will compress the image and makes depth perception harder. However, I just look closely until I know where it is, look through the smart phone screen and then zapp.
